What Jesus Demands from the World, by Pastor John Piper, examines the demands of Jesus as found in the four Gospels. The clearly written book is arranged with the first chapters showing the changes to a person’s heart and mind that must be in place before Jesus’ demands for outward behavior changes can really take place. The Work of Christ by Robert Letham is a soundly orthodox, simple and engaging presentation of what Christ has done. Part of IVP Academic’s Contours of Christian Theology series, this book is written by a true scholar and goes in depth to unfold the biblical data concerning the work of Christ. It is written is such a manner that whether the reader is a lay person, minister, or scholar they will find is useful and rewarding.
5) Who Is Jesus? (Crucial Questions (Reformation Trust))
Reformation Trust Publishing’s first book in their Crucial Questions theory is Who Is Jesus? by Dr. R.C. Sproul (founder and chairman of Ligonier Ministries, an international Christian education and discipleship organization located near Orlando, Fla). Sproul paints a scriptural portrait of Jesus in this short, but powerful, 105 page book. A thoughtful and thought-provoking read on the history of Jesus’ life.
